Galapagos Islands

Experience the wildlife that inspired the theory of evolution.  Darwin’s theory is based on the differences he found between animal species on the neighboring islands of the Galapagos.  Located off the Ecuador shores in northwest South America, the Galapagos Islands are considered one of the Seven Underwater Wonders of the World.  In this diver’s paradise, you can swim with a kaleidoscope of fish, eels, rays, sea turtles, and dolphins.

Isla Isabela is the largest of the islands and home to the Galapagos penguins.  Fernandina lies to the west and will greet you with thousands of marine iguanas basking on the rocks.  Whales and dolphins are often seen in the Bolivar Channel between these two islands.  Floreana in the south is known for its green sand beaches and a fabulous flamingo lagoon.  Devil’s Crown offers unbelievable snorkeling.  Scenic cliffs and sea lions abound on South Plaza.  On Santa Cruz, visit the namesake Galapagos tortoises at the Darwin research station.  The Highlands on Santa Cruz offer lush forests and unique floral species.  Hike, swim or snorkel along the white sand beaches of Gardner Bay on the island of Espanola (Hood).

Darwin was inspired by the wildlife diversity between the Galapagos Islands.  Share Darwin’s experience and be inspired by the beauty of the Galapagos Islands and by the luxury of your own private yacht charter.
